Labor Day weekend

We were able to get away from Minnesota for a few days this past weekend.  Was nice to see family.  Was also nice having older cousins and Aunts and Grandma to take care of Addie while I laid on the recliner and rested.  I had a fever both Saturday and Sunday - not sure what was up with that.  Joel got to finally test out a chainsaw he bought from Menards on some trees down by the river at his parent's place.  Not sure why we needed one, but it was a good one that was on sale and he said, "We'll need it eventually".  :)  True.  Maybe.  Guys are always thinking ahead.  We visited with Great Grandma Poff for a bit at the nursing home.  Keep her in your prayers to stay comfortable.  My fever was gone by Monday - I felt much better, and then it was time to drive home.  Glad I didn't go into labor on Labor Day.  :)

Had my 37-wk. appt. this morning.  I'm 3cm dilated now and 60-70% effaced. I'm ready to have the baby because, well, I just want to see what this little guy or girl looks like. :) And let's face it - I'm starting to get uncomfortable now, especially sleeping.  But on the other hand I'm not ready.  Having a toddler and a brand new baby is definitely going to be a change and exhausting.  Hang on baby!  Not QUITE yet!  We'll see what God has in store in the next few weeks.

Finally got a 4-generation picture.  Not sure why it took so long.

36 weeks

This was taken last night at 36 weeks.  Hopefully not TOO much longer than 4 weeks to go.  Had a doc's appt. this morning.  I'm 2cm dilated already - have had some stronger contractions here and there - so I guess they're doing what they're suppose to be doing.  I need to take it a little easy since they won't do anything to stop labor if it starts.  Besides having issues with sleeping and getting comfortable at night I've been feeling fine.

Started choir last night.  Went well - had a new member join, and an old one come back.  Always nice to have a full choir.

Looking forward to going to De Pere this weekend to see Joel's family.  Have a great weekend!

Adeline's 2nd birthday party

We had Addie's b-day party on her actual birthday last weekend.  Gramma Sandy and Papa Ken were able to fly over for the weekend, and Uncle Phil and Aunt Tina and kids were able to come up from Rochester.  We had some other friends that were able to help her celebrate too.  Enjoy the pictures!  Can't believe she's 2 already....

Joel made the ladder ball game himself.

A friend of a friend rent's these out, so we got an amazing deal on it.  Can't pass up $30 to keep kids (and even adults) busy!  Thanks, Vanelli's!

Addie's 2-yr. doc appointment

Addie saw Dr. J today.  I think she's going to be skinny like her daddy.  It's funny thinking back to her first 6 months or so before she starting getting active.  She was a porker - in the 90th %tile for height and weight.  Here are her stats:

Weight - 22.6 lbs. (5th %tile)
Height - 33 3/4 in. (49th %tile)
Head Circumference - 18 in. (10th %tile)

And if it's true about what they say about taking their height at 2-yrs. of age and doubling it, and that will be what they are when fully grown, then she'll be between 5'6" and 5'7".  We'll see if that's the case, then she'll outgrow her Mama.  :)

Below is a picture of Addie about a few weeks ago after I picked her up from the Strehler's after playing for church one night.  Lyle and her had run through the sprinklers together, so she had to have a change of clothes.  :) The shirt is an Ex Corde shirt from when Zack and Nick were little.

Apple Ford Shakopee Car Show

Some artsy pictures I (and a few by Joel) took at the car show on Sunday.

How do you even get into that thing?

 El Camino engine.

Do you see me?  :)

Try learning to parallel park in that car!

This one's for you, Dad!  :)  Go Bud!

These last 3 pictures Joel took after his mom, Addie, Josie and I left to go back home (we live right across the street from the Ford dealership that this was at) so Addie could nap and because Josie's paws were hurting because of the hot pavement.  Joel said that this is an extremely expensive car.  The name?  I have no clue.  But there are only a few in the world.  Jeremy Clarkson from the British car show Top Gear owns one.

Joel's parents came for a visit

Joel's parents were able to visit this past weekend.  Was so nice having them around.  Addie got some new books and a puzzle from grandma and grandpa.  Part of the reason why they were visiting was for Joel's aunt and uncle's 45th anniversary party in Prior Lake.  Below are pictures from the party.

This girl loves watermelon!

This is Addie's second cousin, Henry.  He is about 1 month younger than her.

Pull!

 UUUUHHHH!!!

She LOVES water.  Didn't quite get the concept of the slip-n-slide, but at least she ran through the water.  :) Some of her second cousins in the background.

Trying to cut in line.  Stinker.
