Addie turned 5 months old this past Wednesday. We decided to give her some "real" food. So, rice cereal it was. She loves it. Pictures below.
It's been freezing here. So cold that schools have been canceling today and last couple of days. I didn't have to teach Kindergarten music yesterday, which was kind of nice, because I teach them in the morning usually. Joel called me yesterday on his way to class. He was going over the railroad tracks in town and there's a slight slope after that and then a stop sign. A guy was stopped at the stop sign and Joel lightly tapped the brakes. There was a patch of black ice. He tried swerving to the right to go into a snow bank, but the car still ended up hitting the truck with the left-hand back end of the car. The rear tail light is out and part of the bumper too. Thankfully it's just our bumpy, rusty, no-radio Focus and not our new car. We're not even getting our car fixed (except for a new light). Not worth the money.
Joel has off today. We're headed out on a date to go out to eat. This is 2 nights in a row! Last night we went to see a movie.
Hope every one is staying warm! I'm jealous of you Peruvians!
I'm 5 months old and ready to eat!
The first bite.
Hmm, not so sure about this.
Once I got the hang of it, I loved it!
I'm a happy camper in the morning.

Joel sledding outside the house.
Addie smiling at Grandma Joan.
Us with (Great)Grandma Poff.
All the grandkids.
I think Randy looks good with a girl, don't you think? :)

A De Pere Christmas/New Year
A frozen Fox River in the background.
A full house - opening gifts.
I love my Aunt Teri!
Cousin Andy drinking hot chocolate after sledding.
Addie with Great-Grandma Poff.
We headed to De Pere, WI, for the New Year. Joel's entire family was there minus 1 (Todd had to work down in AZ). Needless to say it was a packed house most of the days. Addie was spoiled with presents. I'm guessing a perk of being the firstborn. We had fun sledding one of the days and we're both still sore from it.
I finally got our Christmas letter and pictures printed out. Now it's a matter of addressing envelopes.
Hope everyone had a good New Year!

Merry Christmas!
This is what happens when you leave your daughter home with Dad and he dresses her for the day. :)
Getting ready for church on Christmas Eve - she loves bath time!
Joel and Addie looking at the pretty Christmas ornaments.
Pretty little Adeline in Nana Sandy's dress that she bought - Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve Candlelight service went fantastic at BLC. Mom and Dad, I'll get a copy of it for Grandpa to listen to. I also played for Christmas Day service yesterday at Living Hope. Had lot's of musicians to practice with this week. The top picture is of Addie dressed by Daddy when I came home one afternoon this week from practicing with some trumpeters at church. Even though it's a busy time of year, I do love it. Makes the services all that more special.
After church yesterday morning we just came home and had pancakes. Later in the afternoon we headed over to our friends Matt and Amanda's place for games, fondue, snacks, etc. Joel works today, and I'm doing laundry, cleaning, and need to grocery shop. Let's hope the grocery stores aren't too busy. Maybe I'll even work on getting our Christmas pictures ordered to send out. Ha. Miss everyone, and can't wait to see Joel's side on Monday. :)

Addie's 4 month appointment
Had to bundle her up at night in her sleep sack - it's been in the negatives here, even during the day! Brrr! So much for global warming, eh?
Blowing bubbles - we captured a big one
After bath time
Addie had her doctor's appointment on Monday. She has recently found her voice and squawks and squeals a lot, along with her usual bubble blowing, smiling, and laughing, etc. Dr. Johansen said she's going to be a Chatty Kathy (must be a saying for a talker). She really was "talking" up a storm for him in the doctor's office. It's rather cute, but she was doing it on Sunday at church for Lori who watches her, and for Joel on Monday night church. Both of them had to take her out because she just wants to talk.... It's pretty loud.
Here are her stats:
15 lbs. 2 oz. (91st %tile - that's how we grow'em!)
24 1/4 inches (69th %tile)
Head circumference - all I remember is that she's in the 40th %tile, her head is getting bigger!
She had her shots. Nurse did a good job of distracting her on the first one - she didn't cry. The second one though was the usual "surprise" look at Mom wondering "why did you let this happen to me?" and then a nice, loud, long wail. :(
It's been awhile since we posted. It's been busy around this time of year, of course. Enjoy some recent pictures above.
