It has been a while since either of us have posted soooo....Menard's is good. Not really a job you
would want to do for the rest of your life, but that is why I am going to school. There are a lot of good people there so it makes a job that should not be fun mostly fun.
I am enrolled in three of the four classes I wanted to take at Hennepin Tech. The fourth was full by the time I tried to do it so we will see if I can get into that one.
Seeing that I work at Menard's, I see many good sales. They are just way to hard to resist. We are redoing our flooring finally. The flooring is about one third of the way done. Here it is with carpet, then one with me tearing it up, and finally where we are now. Our theme for it so far is "slow."
I have a nice little air compressor that was half off.
Along with those little things we bought a few lights, replaced our bedroom ceiling fan, and put in puck lighting in the kitchen. Sorry for the messy counter, I am sure we will clean it in a few days:)
Here are two pictures of when the dog was not being nice. Rachel found her eating lint from the dryer. When Rach asked "what are you doing?" she got sad and there was lint stuck in her nose. The other one she started eating a finished cup of yogurt. We punished her by putting the cup on her nose. She did not like it.
Randy, here is the picture of the flooring that is not laying down flat. I also found two pictures of Andy when you guys were here.

Menards
Friday is my last day for Window Medics. I start work on Monday for Menard's. This should be a great job to hold over until I can get a job that relates to my schooling. ARET. Automation Robotics Engineering Technology.

New Job?
I sent in my resume to Fedex. Nothing. UPS. Not hiring. A few random places that were posted on craigslist. Nothing. I went to an employment center, passed the test but during the interview I stupidly mentioned that I was going to school in the spring. Well, they are only looking for long term employees. Hopeless I thought. Hopeless.
I sent in my resume to Sun Country Airlines. The next day the called and wanted me to check out thier open house for the ramp agent job. I was told it would take two to three weeks to get the background check back, and then they can tell us who is hired. The next day I got a call from them saying they wanted me to work for them. But... it is only 20-30 hrs/wk. And it is a 35 min drive to the airport.
I told them to please give me a few days, she agreed. She will call back on Monday the 8th.
Yesterday I filled out an application for Menards. This is much closer, will give me more hours and pay only one dollar an hour less. But on the weekends I will get one-fifty and hour more. Today I was called and they wanted an interview. I was told I will be called on monday and there is no reason that I won't be hired. (I also know a guy from church who works there so that is good and will help).
I really hope Menards calls in the morning and Sun Country calls in the afternoon. It would make the choice much easier. Does anyone read this blog/family diary?
I may also have torn some ligaments in my knee in our football game on Tuesday. I have a doctors appointment on the 11th. It keeps hyper extending while I just stand there and randomly give out. PCL anyone?

A Job Would Be Nice
On Tuesday my boss called me to check and see how the day was going. The day was just a usual day, probably around 5 or so calls. He then asked me to come to his house to look over some "paper work". I had a bad feeling about this "paper work" because he quickly bid me farewell and hung up quicker than usuall. Well this "paper work" was a couple charts and graphs looking over payroll, profit (or lack there of), expenses and all that good stuff. I then new my fears were correct. He started talking about this and that and the other thing about how we are not making any money as I stood there thinking, "Just say it...just say it already...I know it is coming...". And then the inevitable. "I can not afford to pay you anymore".
Needless to say I have been wondering for a long time how he can afford to pay me when we are not making nearly enough to cover my salary (and that is already small). For example this last month I have at most 15 quotes a week. Out of those quoted I can maybe do a couple hundred dollars of windows. So... it is off to find a new job.
