This is what happens when you leave your daughter home with Dad and he dresses her for the day. :)
Getting ready for church on Christmas Eve - she loves bath time!
Joel and Addie looking at the pretty Christmas ornaments.
Pretty little Adeline in Nana Sandy's dress that she bought - Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve Candlelight service went fantastic at BLC. Mom and Dad, I'll get a copy of it for Grandpa to listen to. I also played for Christmas Day service yesterday at Living Hope. Had lot's of musicians to practice with this week. The top picture is of Addie dressed by Daddy when I came home one afternoon this week from practicing with some trumpeters at church. Even though it's a busy time of year, I do love it. Makes the services all that more special.
After church yesterday morning we just came home and had pancakes. Later in the afternoon we headed over to our friends Matt and Amanda's place for games, fondue, snacks, etc. Joel works today, and I'm doing laundry, cleaning, and need to grocery shop. Let's hope the grocery stores aren't too busy. Maybe I'll even work on getting our Christmas pictures ordered to send out. Ha. Miss everyone, and can't wait to see Joel's side on Monday. :)

Addie's 4 month appointment
Had to bundle her up at night in her sleep sack - it's been in the negatives here, even during the day! Brrr! So much for global warming, eh?
Blowing bubbles - we captured a big one
After bath time
Addie had her doctor's appointment on Monday. She has recently found her voice and squawks and squeals a lot, along with her usual bubble blowing, smiling, and laughing, etc. Dr. Johansen said she's going to be a Chatty Kathy (must be a saying for a talker). She really was "talking" up a storm for him in the doctor's office. It's rather cute, but she was doing it on Sunday at church for Lori who watches her, and for Joel on Monday night church. Both of them had to take her out because she just wants to talk.... It's pretty loud.
Here are her stats:
15 lbs. 2 oz. (91st %tile - that's how we grow'em!)
24 1/4 inches (69th %tile)
Head circumference - all I remember is that she's in the 40th %tile, her head is getting bigger!
She had her shots. Nurse did a good job of distracting her on the first one - she didn't cry. The second one though was the usual "surprise" look at Mom wondering "why did you let this happen to me?" and then a nice, loud, long wail. :(
It's been awhile since we posted. It's been busy around this time of year, of course. Enjoy some recent pictures above.

Happy Birthday, Grandma Joan!
I was tucking Adeline into bed and she reminded me that it was Grandma Joan's birthday. :) Adeline even sang "Happy Birthday" while I was taking this picture. :) Happy birthday! We miss you and love you!

3 months old tomorrow!
Joel didn't have school yesterday. So we decided to take her 3 month pictures here at home. We set up a little "studio" in our bedroom and Joel took these pictures. She is already 3 months old tomorrow. I can't believe it.

11 weeks old
Her shirt says, "His Little Lamb" and has Psalm 23 on the back. Got it from my God-mother. :)
Adeline had another doctor's visit yesterday for her leftover umbilical cord (granuloma). He zapped it 3 more times with silver nitrate, and it's already basically gone. They weighed her too, just for fun, and she's gained about a pound over the past 2 weeks. She's about 12 lbs.

Apple orchard
Behind the white fence are hanging strawberry plants.
I started putting Addie into 3-6 month clothes a few days ago. She's too long for the 0-3 month clothes now - especially in the leg area. And besides, I just wanted to start dressing her up in new clothes :).
We went to Emma Krumbee's (apple orchard) down in Belle Plaine last Monday. Was a pretty decent day - just windy. Addie started getting fussy and wanted to be held. So the pictures just show me walking around with her. We were going to try to get a picture of her by some pumpkins or something, but she fell asleep in my arms - must have been pretty tired. If any of you come to visit, we're totally taking you there. They have these carmel croissants. They're amazing.

Stage One of Shots
Addie had her two month check up and all is going well. Part of the umbilical cord never fell off and was kept "alive" via a single vein. At first the doctor said she would need surgery in the next few years to take it off. Then he figured he would try dabbing silver nitrate on it to make it die and fall off. She also had her shots, which she loved. Guess what, she is sleeping now.
Wt.- 11 lbs 3oz (81st %tile)
Ht.- 23 inches (89th %tile)
Head Cir.- 14.8 (39th %tile)
Fast asleep after shots and a long walk!

8 weeks old tomorrow
I thought this one was cute of her. I took it earlier this week after a bath. Notice the fluffy hair. :)
"I hold my head up so well!"
Joel didn't have class this morning (woohoo!), so we went for a long walk with the dog. We had to bundle Addie up since it was about 45 degrees outside.

In Mom's bonnet
This was my bonnet when I was little. Addie didn't fit into it too well when she was first born. But she'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow and she's grown a little!
