For those of you who didn't know, this past weekend weekend Joel's brother Randy and Kat and family stayed at our place. They are moving to Peru for a few years for his job and are moving a lot of their things to Kat's parents place in Michigan before they leave. Joel's other brother Phil helped Randy drive up from AZ. So we had quite the house-full on Saturday night. It was great being able to see them before they left. Addie was able to see some of her cousins for the first time.

Addie's first doctors visit
Addie had her first doctors visit this morning. Everything is great. She now weighs 6 lbs 15 oz. - up 11 oz. since Saturday. She is DEFINITELY getting enough to eat. The doctor was impressed because most babies a week after their birth are still below their birth weight, especially if breastfeeding. She is in the 29th percentile, still a smaller baby, but that's ok. :) She's easier to cuddle. And she definitely has Joel's side of the family's head - since head circumference is in the 27th percentile (my side tends to have large heads, haha). That's all for today!

Welcome home!
Here are some pics from the first few hours that Adeline was home. Josie is VERY curious about her. Not too fond of the crying - at night she sticks her head under our bed when sleeping. Pretty funny.
A nurse came yesterday to check Addie and me out. Insurance covers it - guess it's pretty common these days. She was here for about 40 minutes and answered questions I had too. Addie was down to 6 lbs 4 oz. when leaving the hospital. She was 6 lbs. 7 oz. yesterday. So she's definitely eating enough.
People have been bringing meals over, so it's been fantastic not having to cook and wash dishes. Tomorrow night the 2 secretaries from church are coming and watching Addie for an hour so Joel and I can go do something. I think we might go to Dairy Queen and get some ice cream and actually talk to one another! :)
Addie's down for a nap, so I thought I'd add a few more pics and take a shower! Never knew how exciting that would be...

Tomorrow is the due date!
Holy cow - Tomorrow is the due date. Well, last week I didn't schedule another appointment to see Dr. Griffiths. Joel and I forgot as we were walking out, probably because we were so amazed that he said he'd be willing to break my water last Thursday... I've been having some pretty major contractions since Sunday night. Nothing closer than 5 minutes apart, and then they'll taper off during the day. So, needless to say, I've been up during the nights till about 3 in the morning (something I get to look forward to? :) ). And then I'll finally fall asleep. There are also other definite signs of labor. Come on Baby Z! I think "Turtle" would be a good middle name at this point.
By the way, our lap top has been out of commission for the past week. Joel is suppose to talk to some person from Microsoft today at 4 and get it fixed. He's been on the phone for about a total of 10 hours (not kidding) with Microsoft and also HP trying to get it resolved. It didn't help that one of the persons he talked to last week told him to order the wrong Cd-Rom.... Supposedly they are shipping a new one free of charge overnight. Hopefully it can get fixed before we have to head to the hospital. It'd be nice to be able to upload pictures right away. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait.
Anybody see Michael Phelps and his teammates win the gold in the 4x4 swim? That was awesome to watch. Such excitement! Go USA!

38 weeks 6 days doc visit
So, we could have the baby on Thursday if I wanted to. Dr. Griffiths said he'd be fine with breaking my water on Thursday if I was uncomfortable. As tempting as that is, Joel and I talked and I'd rather just go into labor on my own at this point. I still have a week till my due date, so I don't think it's that bad if I haven't had the baby yet. He did say that he thinks I'll go into labor in the next few days, so I figure, why not just wait then anyways? It's kind of inevitable anyways - Haha. Nobody ever stayed pregnant forever. I am 1.5 cm dilated and 80-90% effaced. So I did make some progress from last week.
I have a funeral that I'm suppose to play for on Friday (I have a back-up player just in case). And we have an Ethnic Block Party at BLC this Sunday that I am on the Mercy Ministries team for. I'm suppose to pick up a keg of 1919 Root Beer and take that. I'm also scheduled to play and song lead at Living Hope on Sunday. I have back-ups for that as well. God knows when the baby is suppose to come, and we'll just let Him decide. :)
Have a good one!
